Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.
The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date. | | |

It's this time of the year again, the Essential Mix of the Year vote is open and ready to take your vote for your favorite artist. This year you can choose from all the mixes aired the last 12 months and not just the expected top 10.
There are in total 57 DJs to pick from, starting with Joey Negro aired 30th October last year and all the way to Andy Cato a couple of weeks ago.
Take a look at the list on the BBC page here and submit your vote.
The vote will end the 22nd December and the winner will be aired on New Year's Eve.

This years Essential Mix of The Year winner was, maybe not that unexpected, Sasha at Maida Vale (2005-05-22).
Let's hope the new year will bring some quality sets and new artists.

The site will recieve an ISP switch theese days (15-17 dec.).
You might experience some outages while the dns updates, but the old ip will be invalid after around 2pm CET Friday.
I just started to move the content around, and some data might be lost in the process. Ofcourse I'll try and merge the data as it comes in, but i cant make any guarantees, some comments might be lost here and there.
Alas! The move is only temporary, because of an ISP change at my home, the site will be put on 10mbit up&down connection, asap.

Change in domain name and new design nearing completion.
For those of you who might not have noticed, a few weeks ago we redirected all users to essential.scene-si.org. This was the first step in order to avoid any future problems regarding the ownership of the .ca domain.
As of today we've moved to our final domain name, www.essentialmix.nu. The old domain will continue to redirect for an unforeseeable future. This is just a precaution to make sure the site will be available to you in the future.
Please take the time to update your bookmarks and links with the new domain name.
Development of the new design is coming along well and we hope to implement the last features and squeeze out the remaining bugs in the next few weeks. Stay tuned |
