Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.

The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date.

Plans are underway for a new server which will host this site..

Acctually, an updated version of the software, all of it. Expect BIG changes, all for the better.. speed.. design.. content.

I bought up most of the stuff i need for the new box, except a VFD module (write hatemail to, and a nice little slim & backlighted keyboard to go with the box (

The only missing thing i havent decided to buy yet it a FIR module for a remote controll to use the server as my dvd/mp3 playing box also

Just kidding :P, anyway, check back often to see whats going on

black writes: redesign / recode of the site (v2)

Im thinking, since its new years and all, if i would update this essential mix archive.. most of the stuff would involve a redesign of the site...

if there are any talented web designers that would want to spare a few days to create a new design for this page (something trendy, nice for the eyes, prefferable dark-red scheme, doesnt need to be computer generated - you can use cameras/scanner to get images aslong as the design is 100% copyright free and futuristic )

ughm ok im blabbing on.. if somebody wants to make a design for this site, mail me at and we'll work out who does what and what he gets in return (besides a (c) by Author on the acctual page )

the main improvements should be in the forum (a new one already written), and in the news / comments sections of the site.. if anybody has any ideas for additions, the mail for contacting me is above..

as for people asking to pay / whatever for access to the ftp - no way.. its either free or it doesn't exist. come to @ #essentialmix and use the bots. im never gonna charge for the ftp in a financial way.. but if you have something i need, then i give access in return (or something else you need), and also for effort

there was this guy.. who snail mailed me 10 cds.. progressive house, from the beginning of the 90's, ofcourse QUITE outdated for my taste, and they sit here on my desk gathering dust, but the guy still got an account.. fair is fair. limited to 100 logins is still better than nothing

E-mails like this really make me find out how nice it was to use my own equipment and money for other peoples enjoyment.

Phreak E

those who have contributed (unlike phreak) still have a nice account on my box, and it's theese people who made the difference for me, and not wankers like this phreakE - who's personal account was expired by me, after he downloaded ~7+ gig, and uploaded 0 bytes.

give him your personal thanks why the ftp is not up for the public anymore

his ip is and he is the only person who i have banned across the IP, nobody else has an ip ban, since people tend NOT to forget that its my machine that hosts the mixes and nobody paid shit for it except me.
