Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.
The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date. | | |

lately, i've been working on a new design for this site and i would like some feedback from YOU  .. yes you :P
You can view a preliminary screenshot (which is almost a final version) of the design.. here. Post any comments or suggestions to this news item here and I'll try to process them all, but dont expect any major changes.
If you have some suggestions for a new type of content here on the emix site, also leave a comment between those somewhere . |

For tracklistings and comments on the mixes this site is great. My suggestion would be to bring the Forum area on to the front page somehow. I don't think there's much of a discussion generated between the users on this site, and I'm sure there could be more. If people immediately see conversations going on,they may be more inclined to join in. It could replace the News area - that is a whole lot of redundant space because it is inly updated every few months.

That's a good point you have there.
I come here a lot, to look for tracklists and stuf. I see the forum but never use it because it isn't crowded enough i guess..
And:
New site looks neat,.. Quite dark though, but not as dark as this one
is the logo in the left the new logo or just a banner? |

I agree with you.. I'll put up a "last 5 active topics" or something in that general direction.. so you can see which users are active and what topics are hot, et cetera..

I was thinking of maybe switching the backgrounds or logos in the header for each new pageload.. so when you navigate trough the site, you always have some other background above, and maybe some other color shade also.. so its barely noticeable, but still.. a nice trick :PSince we got some cash stored from the last two big donators (THANK YOU GUYS!), I am thinking of having some competition.
What kind of competition I dont know, but feel free to suggest those also . Keep in mind that we wont give out money, but more along the lines of "get your year of essentialmixes in the post" or maybe some cds ordered from amazon. You know, music related. Suggest anything. Think out of the box. Not a redesign but a recode. Everything new. |
