A very underrated mix from a very underrated DJ. Some excellent pre-Twilo, Soundfactory styled house with some of the less obvious or boring UK Progressive.
A very club-friendly mix. No 14 min whale noise and piano overtures here.
Some great tracks from Dave Valentine's Strongroom records and Gordon's own collaboration with Nick Hook is a stand-out. |

It was actually a very good set spoiled by the terrible problems with the sound in the arena (problem started way before jules was on) |

How good is the breakdown at the 9min mark. The first few tracks are really good but then there are a couple that doesn't cut it audio quality and, as mentioned, starts to irritate. |

just notided a mistake in your listings-
this EM should be dated 12th March 94
if you listen to the end of the John Digweed 5th March 94 EM which was broadcast the week before, it says that the next weeks EM will be this Media Records Special
and if you liste to the end of the Media Records Special EM it says that the next weeks EM will be Paul Oakenfold (which was broadcast on 19th March 94)
BTW: the EM that was broadcast on 12th Feb 94 was a Pete Tong studio mix |

finally d/l a complete copy of this set. as someone who used to go to jungle raves throughout the 90s i can say hand on my heart that it doesn't get much better than this. heavyweight track seleckio, sublime mixing. as 5ive-o used to say "the darth vader of the turntables, and remember, he's darker than ever. wicked mix rider!" |

funkier than a room full of james brown impersonators. i'd not heard of these chaps before so many thanks to radio 1 for bringing them to my attention! as per the previous comment - a very refreshing change to the usual offerings. |

Some really small-minded comments on this one. I'm not even going to try and correct them, live free in your ignorance, I'll enjoy this brilliant mix of un-pretentious party hip-hop and almost big beat...possibly my favourite mix since the Switch one. |
