 Information
Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.

The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date.

Now this is intersting Tongy mix indeed and yes goes tits up after HHC but well, I spose typical Tong of the time, some underground uns and then some mroe commerical uns.

 JasonB writes: [ 1997-07-06 - Paul Oakenfold ]
Tracklist for this is inaccurate aswell

The first track from paul is Flaming June followed by two track I don;t know (could be the correct next two in tracklist) and then Transa-Enervate is the 4th track.

Don't know the 6th track but 7 is Mystica-everest

and the 8th track I don't know.

The mixing between Leftfield and Pappa & Gilbey is progressive to the max, for 6 years old it still sounds so good.

 lomochild writes: [ 2007-02-18 - Danny Howells ]
Gave this a listen the other day, not bad compared to most other mixes over the last couple of years. The opening 25 mins or so included some nice tracks though I gradually lost interest as the mix progressed. The mixing appears to be top notch as you might expect, probably need to give this a few more listens I suppose. I still prefer Danny's set from Jan '98, for me his first EM (I think!) and his best (imo).

Looking forward to this......his last mix was quite good and his productions are for the most part good.

But any live DJ sets I have heard of hiim have been woeful, lets hope he mixes up a good one for this week.

First half hour starts building nicely then it falls into the trap of almost all trance EMs.....gets fair too hard too early...then....the DJ has nowhere else he can go,so bangs the alsolute crap out of it for the rest of the mix.

This guy is highly regarded too......not my cup of tea.

I'm not a trance fan as such,
but the likes of Christopher Lawrence I find to be quite listenable.

This had the potential to me better.
