Damn. 10 years on and I still find myself listening to this mix more than most others! Would love to get a few more Pullen sets, but there's not a lot out there. I bought his album years ago, but he only did about 2 mix CDs after that! (DJ Kicks & Fabric) Pity. |

Easily Slam's best Essential Mix and one of the best EM's ever. Still absolutely rocking after all this time!! A couple of dodgey tracks within the first 40 mins fail to detract from what is a phenomenal 2 hours of deep and progressive house and techno!! |

Standard Tiesto affair really - don't think this set has aged too well. Rapture seemed to go on forever and the set only really got going on 55mins. Tiesto fans tend to give 9 or 10 regardless, but after 3-4 years of listening to Tiesto dropping the same tunes for the last 3-4 years, I won't be keeping this one. |

Just not my thing at all. Slow, whiney, weird barely-tracks -- and I'm considering a home lobotomy to get the "tick-tick-tick" sound of that endless hi-hat backbeat out of my brain. Everything I used to hate about "boring, repetetive" club music before I heard GOOD club music.
Technically probably-sound, but nothing I want to listen to. Less boring than the Tiefschwarz mix,,, but since listening to a dial tone is less boring than the Tiefschwarz mix, that's not saying much. |

At some point on his mix (may have been Boy George, but don't think so....????) he plays something with the sample, "So what do you want me to do? etc" great tune but what is it?
if you go to here, you can hear the sample that may jog some memories----

Oh yes - gets better every time you listen to it. Chilled and easy on the ear for the most part, but it certainly has some funky moments where you just can't sit still!! A solid 2 hours of quality chill & house that rarely allows you to switch off |

A sequence of over-familiar crowd pleasing tunes. Not a good mix. |

A Benchmark Essential Mix - top quality from start to finish. Nick Warren delivers once again. |

A solid house-style opening hour....very smooth...followed by a superb hour of first-class detroit techno. Highly recommended!! |

OMG , how many boring mixes likes this we will have to see ? |
|
The usual Tong problem - he matches good tunes with as many dull ones. A good patch will always be followed by the fast forward bit. First 20mins of this is OK, and as noted above the mixing isn't as bad as normal. |
