Shame, after sasha the chemical brothers came on and were shit. Took the mood right down again. Meh.

I agree that this mix is what Oakenfold is all about. It's the style of trance that we all knew before trance got cheezy - but with the benefit that this is brand spankin' new musict that Oakie is producing today! The songs are not too mellow, not to hyper, not cheezy, and contain good variety. Simpler is better. Looks like Oakie's new CD "A Lively Mind" is going to be a hit. |

From all the Tiga singles I've heard and all the foppish album covers I've seen, Iwould say this mix is very befitting of Tiga's body of work. A very good mix. |

I enjoyed it very much. More a mix of tunes than a fullblown set. |
|
This mix took me back to when i was 17. Uplifting house with some good trance beats. This set is just Oakie, its what he does. I really enjoyed it. It was like a classics set without any classics if that makes sense. I closed my eyes as i was listening to this on the train to work in the morning and was suddenly back in a club years ago, i was taping my feet and really wanted to dance. Don't think the well dressed FT readers on the train would have appreciated that so i just smiled and carried on listening. If you like good old fashioned no nonsense house and trance... this set is for you...

It's not the quality of the mixing that makes James's mix. It's loud, cracking and the tracks blow the roof off. At the same time... he plays mostly big tunes and all the UNKLE reinterpretations of rock tracks make me wonder if it's a little tried by now. Otherwise though, explosive mix and Darren's second hour doesn't disappoint if not better! |
|
Disappointed. Never really gets going. I'm sure they weren't rocking the WMC with this 'lying about the house' selection. |

It doesn't quite score 10, but that's because I always lose interest towards the end.
At the time though, it was amazing. Fresh, varied with some awesome mixing and ideas. 'On a High' still gets me smiliing!!
Try to grab their WMC mix that was out around the same time I believe. |

This was and still is one of the best ever EM's. I like my trance, my D'n'B and my chillout music, but this is downtempo house par excellence. Breathtaking. |

Excellent mix - not a duff track in site and very well miced. Chilled and a little bit funky. Great stuff |

I have listened to this mix about 3 times now, really enjoying it. Obviously. Theres an awesome tune about the 45min mark. Its got a very funky prog vibe about it which is what i like, with that some uplifting rifts and some cool melodies. I would thoroughly recommend this mix to anyone who likes the funky house prog genre...
Cheers CP :p |

Today I am not going to put anything of the set (sorry) simply this end I knew to a loveliness, it calls reyna, girl fills the heart and the soul ... thank you!!! |
|
I always like my DnB with more bass than drums. This stuff is right up my alley. |

Coruco:
Why when it seems you can speak English do you first post in Spanish on an English speaking board knowing 99% of the users will not understand you???
Anyway, this is a solid house mix with some brilliant tracks, most notably,"The Rendition","Bo**ocks","Bad Clock"(which is the best I have heard yet from Sebastian Leger).
Good mixing throughout and a nice flow as well.
Well worth your time if you are a fan of nice chunky house. |

A great mix from P&W and definitely better (more upbeat) than their 2002 effort. The opening 30 mins is amazing - I love long transition for Science Department's brilliant 'Persuasion'.
Alas, it could've been perfect - I always found Innate's 'Changes' to be a little on the dull / repetitive side - 2 mixes of it here?!
Snakeblood is a great track, but disrupts the mood, as does BT's Fibonacci Sequence. 8/10 for me.

Must get my hands on this set! Lots or Bolland, Slater, Beltram et al on there. Just spotted Bolland's Spring Yard - definitely one of my all time favourite techno/trance tracks!! |

I agree that the tracklisting is wrong - the 4th track is called Waterdance by Stacey Pullen - I have the album!!
This mix brings back great memories - superb opening / closing half hours. IMO, the mid-section lets the mix down - never could relate to repetitive acid techno tracks. |
