Typically eclectic track selection by G&G here! Looking forward to hearing it when I get around to downloading it

This mix was recorded @ Ascention, Manchester.

I liked this mix btw. Not just because it's a live essential mix, but also becuase Halliwell knows how to keep it pumping! I really dig his style of mixing and it's a pleasure to see him perform live. And though Q-bert may be better in scratching, Halliwell is good at it too imo.

The only minus about this mix is that he plays all the 'well-known-hits'. Not so many new and fresh tracks. But he still does that now.

One word: boring. I love Sasha of old, but this set, while beatifully produced, is just plain boring.

Usually my criteria for mixes are: does it entertain, and if its a dance mix, does it make me want to dance. While this is not normally my type of music, and any individual track would probably sound silly by itself, the mix as a whole is great. There were a few times while I was doing something else and listening that I found myself dancing around the house.

Been listening to this mix for about 20 minutes now and god how boring!? Tried to fast forward but my crappy iriver winds forward as quickly as it plays... great, good one... so either listen to it hoping its going to get better or... just wait for the James Holden set afterwards... option 2 i think...

Some gorgeous house music. He avoids the cheesy singing that can be so common in this genre. While not a jump up style, the set takes you on a great journey.

The buildup takes the better part of the first hour, but the tracks are nice and dark the whole way. Once they hit their stride in the second hour, its awesome.

I think their previous EM is much better than this one.

Good mix, but some of the tracks seemed out of place.

Pretty good, but the sound quality could be better.

The first hour non-stop kicks your ass. He lets up a bit in the second half, but still good. This is the kind of set that makes me sad I stopped raving.

Very righteous. Never used into be dirty house much before hearing this... but seriously, the Enjoy the Silence Mix is the freshest I've heard in a while. Very quality, very engaging, very live. Best of the year.

when i saw there were 5 comments for this mix i thought to myself "great, perhaps i can gain some insight into this mix that will help me decide whether to download it or not"

in reality there is a dual-language dialogue on translations. and now a 6th useless comment too.

didn't expect such a full on trance mix from Sasha! Really enjoyed this

 Sand Leaper writes: [ 1994-11-20 - Dave Angel ]
Patrick Pulsinger - "Dogmatic Seq II" (Disko B) = Patrick Pulsinger - Viagem (on Dogmatic Sequences II)

Dave Clarke - "Red 2" (Bush) = Dave Clarke - Wisdom To The Wise

Also, Planet Of Drums is by Tim Taylor & Dan Zamani.

1994 seems to be one of the best years ever for the Essential Mix when it comes to techno. This mix is no exception. Dave Angel's selection is nothing short of stellar, with an absolute highlight in playing To The Sky and Wisdom To The Wise back to back.

Die-hard DD fans and fans of house/prog/tribal are going to rave about this. I listen to everything from ambient to trance to drum 'n' bass to techno. I personally preferred DD a couple of years back when infectious beats and percussion were what they were all about.

The opening 30mins of this set is actually very good, but a fairly boring 20min lull lets the set down. The final hour is hit and miss for me, but I can appreciate the mixing and track selection - 7 overall.
