 Information
Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.

The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date.

(And I have to say, 'saludo carnal' sounds pretty incriminating to me, too.)

Jajajaja.

synkboy indicated RIGHT AT THE START of his posting that the translation he posted comes direct from Babelfish. If you have an issue with it, take it up with them, not him. Calling him an asshole just makes you sound stupid in two languages.

not a bad mix, but some of the tracks are the annoying kind of trance.

 zangief writes: D&B is still alive [ 2005-09-18 - Pendulum ]
I saw a lot of crap talked about D&B and felt offended. As much as I only listen to D&B a few days out of a month essential mix seems to be getting the crap of the crop instead of the cream of the crop. Try Calibre, High Contrast, and I'm sure there are more that I don't know about--those guys are putting the 'o' in groove and producing fresh classics all around.

I haven't heard this mix in ages though I'm pretty sure the last tune they play is called 'Love and Imitation' - it's probably one of the best tracks ever made!!

Slick, accessible and very enjoyable at times. He does lose it a bit at the end but you can always knock it off and play something else less boring instead!!

I might've enjoyed this at Privilege, but as an Essential Mix, the build-up was bland and the climax was messy. Another techno disappointment

I'm a huge Holden fan - his Balance 005 was probably the best electronica cd to come out in the past 5 years. I still listen to his 2002 EM, which is obviously much more accessible than this latest effort.

This mix reflects more closely his latest cd release - it is a intelligent and thought provoking composition....just not particularly entertaining. I think I'll stick to Balance and his recent Global DJ Broadcast sets when I feel like my next dose of Holden.

 Hillsman writes: [ 2006-03-19 - Nathan Fake ]
I'm a fan of Nathan Fake - many of his earlier productions have been promising. But most of these tracks are merely intellectual for the sake of it. Too fluffy and dull.

This mix takes me to a place where the sunset is still hot as hell and the skunk smoke makes it hard to breathe... in a good way

It's a druggy house journey...

I rarely give 10 out of 10 to anything, but this is probably my favourite Essential Mix ever. I've listened to it countless times and it is still just as fresh and brilliant. Superb.

Babelfish had this to say

The net one is that this we because never to be my fort to listen to it, from the first time that listens to it I make an impression by all the trajectory that it has and that that this or chavo we but never because I said, puta east mother Seth this with mothers until this, I put but qualification to him so that simply this good one, is not something of another the 8 planet asi that this very or. This weekend last wine DEEP DISH and I went with all the expectation of DO NOT SUCK! party is going to be a mega and or deception, nothing but prendio rolitas of George iTs On and ahi in outside estubo the mediocre truth the complete Seth, was so that it had left that party commenting it an entire year whole and nel but in short, that always happens when waits for something much... usually it happens. Not to leave to the tradition a sexual greeting that you walk in Aurora, much luck the 1 Of May and not they forget not consuming anything American, that sees that we are not one minoria but that we are an important part in his economia. Beautiful Pangerita, your you walk in mexicali and I writing my babosadas jejejeje... cuidate and send thousand kisses much to you, I WANT to YOU but of which you imagine.

While not perfect, all I can think about while listening to this is "god I wish I was in that club with the bass coming through the soundsystem."

Some of sasha's track selections verge on boring ever since that fantastic 2000 mix.

Its always a treat to catch these unique mixes that have great songs. Not perfect, but damn good.

The first hour is pure plump goodness. The first 40 minutes of the second hour seem a bit disjointed to me, but they do finish off with a few really good songs.

Coruco writes: Por Fin!!! [ 2006-04-23 - Nic Fanciulli ]
