 Information
Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.

The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date.

We were parrtying at my place to this and it rocked the joint!

Twas the first time I heard Dave Clarke's 'Southside' slowed down to house speed. The tracks never left my record box!

Other than that there's actually only about 5 tracks that sucked which is good for the Judge...

After a pumpin set from Jules we get the usual 'we know the tune, just finish the f**king mix Diggers' routine.

I'm the hate figure of most British Trainspotting 'I'll adopt Sash n Weedy's kids' types who always go the same way.

This kind of mixing is way too long and premeditated after 1 or 2 tracks. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

ive long been a fan of sasha, and hes a man pushs things forward THE most progressive man in dance music, a little before his time some may say.

ive still not got into his new way of mixing, well digitally producing live sets or whatever u want to call it.

I havnt yet been gripped by this mix, but sure enough im sure i will at some point, im proberbly not yet musically 'mature' yet to apreciate it, but as ive been in position b4 with things, im used to realising weeks months years later that it was an absolute magical idea.

id still prefer to see him rather than just focus on one means of mixing, mix it up and use a whole array of instruments. the whole digital thing doesnt seem to get me going as much as when u hear a dj mix and get some of the mixes slightly wrong, this doesnt seem 'real' if u understand me, thus doesnt seem to get me going as much.

only time will tell, proberbly when he gets a lifwetime achievemnt award and a bronze statue of him erected somewhere. he thoroughly deserves it as he has helped drive the dance music scene in the uk for years and years, and this 'new' aproach to ddj'ing is just another step forward... but vinyl will never die!

singing along with 15,000 people in that tenmt was absolutly unreal, and to listen to it now knowing i was part of it feels abit special. i just recently gave it to my m8 who was there with me, and he almost cried, and im sure he will in the middle of silence when he listens back.
what more can i say

 Slisje writes: fun [ 2006-02-12 - Grime & Dubstep Special ]
i must say it was fun to listin to tis mix...
since i like drum & bass this was like a mix between the (very) old goa with all the special sounds... and sort of mhh how to say this... don't know! Special!

however not very good mixing,
but still good choich of music, since the essential mix is more dance.

i liked it!
Speciale the funny sounds

Oh yeah baby, this is an absolute CASSIC mix!
the highlight being the Remak - Bladerunner / Humate - Love Stimulation (PVD rmx) mix,
perfect combo, perfect timing.
gets 'dark' towards the end to.
