The change of tempo around the 26 minute mark is superbly executed, going from some rolling drum & bass into some dubby downtempo beats. Some EMs seem to float over you a bit - with this one you find yourself paying a lot more attention to the music, testament to the programming.

I've given this e-mix 2 solid listens now and I must say that I am really impressed. It doesn't have a very good club/dance vibe, but damn...there are some really groovy beats that flow nicely. The kind of stuff you can just get swept up in and lose yourself.
As always, Sasha is still one of the greatest producers/DJs out there. No one else like him.
Congrats to Sasha for winning E-mix of the year.
9/10

Very good mix....particularly the end. Breaks mixes often seem a bit samey to me, but this one was spot on. 8.5/10

underneath the "napalm brain/scatter brain" bit that plays in this mix, i believe there's a part of "eastward" by urban tribe being played, as well.

lovely party mix, driving house sounds by jazzy M, who got known because of his "jazzin the way you know".

1 edit:
Basement Jaxx - "Bingo Bango" (XL)

Groove Armada - I see you baby [Pepper Records]

worlddude writes: [ 2004-06-13 - Pepe Bradock, Live from Lisbon ]
like martix says, big fun is the best part of this mix. I like pepe bradock as a producer, but this essential mix is indeed sometimes (not all the time) a bit boring.

Unknown – Track Unknown (Casual Records)

TY - Oh you want more (remix)

This essential mix is ok, but not really special. This one is not particularry better than bradock or petterson, but maybe more dancefull.

I did really enjoy listening to that mix. Not something that would blow my mind away, but it's still good.

ive finally managed to track down the full 2 hours of this set and as stated above, there was a show before this essential mix playing MOS classics, and also as stated above there is no mention of dj harvey in the pete tong voiceovers-

its just CJ Mackintosh live from the ministry of sound London

i will give the tracklisting a go and post it up when i get a chance
