Much better than I expected. Could have done without the 'Oy Oy' nonsense at the start, but an above average Tong mix. |

i dont like this mix very much, when morillo played his tribal mixes,he had perfect underground sound! But now his music is more "usual",but ofcourse he is master of djing, using accapellas and experementing with forgotten hits(funkytown) is great! |

it's very unusual to me,because so commercial producers, playing good non-comercial mixes, one more great mix from deep dish!!! |

Not a bad mix at all. There's some great mixing and some decent tracks played but, what lets it down for me is the sequencing of tracks, for example Capser's Generation was probably the hardest track played and it sounded totally out of place between two hard trance tracks and also I'm still not sure if 'the day will come' worked with Skylark, as the complete change of music style is very sudden. |

Any know the name of the old school tune played at about 1 hr and 20 mins in? Its not listed on the tracklisting as there is definately a track in between this
Husky rescue - 'New Light of Tomorrow' [Linus Loves Remix] (Catskills)
and this
Kerowack - 'Dirty Bumf' (Rip)
as i have them both on vinyl.
Any ideas? |

Erick Morillo starts to understand that playing tribal house is just plain boring. This mix is pretty cool. Specially the part where he plays the Red Carpet - Alright, with the many acapellas. Does anyone know which version of red carpet he plays ? I think its the Brad Carter Version but not sure. |

I can't believe I haven't heard this before now, it's amazing. Smooth, layback and most tracks blends perfect. Update: I definitely rate this a 10 (not 9). |

This is still one of my favorites, even after 4 years. |

I can understand why some people are a bit undecided on this mix. It's nothing but a solid 2 hours of deep and dubby west coast house and most of the records are from san diego/sf/vancouver. The mix doesn't really go anywhere or stray too far from that sound so unless you're really keen on that sound (like myself) I can see how this is boring. That's not to say this mix doesn't build up and and break down at all though, but it's in a far more subtle way than your progressive or trance sets. The mixing is just as deep and subtle as everything else here. Quite a few transistions carry on for 2 minutes plus and leave you just itching for them to drop the bassline. Only give this an 8 though because I know these guys could have a bit more direction (other than up and down) while still keeping true to west coast house. |
