In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.

i was at this set, i loved it, but then again i'm sure my judgement was tainted by being there on the scene. Solid mix, though. Didn't stick around for Tongy but went to see underworld instead. Good mix on Sandra's part though! |

definitely the first serious contender for essential mix of the year. Good mix with a good vibe, had its nice evil bits to it. Great funky grooves on this track, solid 9 |

Fantastic first 40 minutes or so - real party stuff. Just dips a bit in the middle for my liking, before picking up again with a tasty new direction towards the end. A high 8. |

The first track was botched on Radio1's t/l
Artist: A Perfect Circle
Track: Fiddle And The Drum

Lable: Virgin Records (of America)
It's a 3 minute 29 second track (off of the top of my head anyways) and all vocals. G&D did a quick effect edit of the track where they addded in a bunch of echos and pad type sound effects at a constant BPM for that set's intro. |

A decent mix. This sort of stuff doesn't seem to have aged as well with me as other mixes of the time (seems a bit samey now), but a good mix. |

Hernan Cattaneo is amazing as usual. He's arguably my favorite DJ right now. I can't find the tracklisting for this set though, that first song is just killer... |

Formation, I think it's very important for people to comment on mixes even when they don't like them. Otherwise, what is the point of this site? How would people get a balanced view? It's no good just commenting on things you like!
But, I do admit I wasn't very constructive in my first post - I normally try to avoid this. The 4/10 was thought out though. |

i still think if you played this set today it would get a reaction, i played it to my 15 Yr old nephew and he was jumping all over the place reminded me of me at the time |

the track saying artist unknown after luminance - plutonium is V-ONE - CLOUDS IN THE SKY.been after this tune for ages and finally found out what its called in 2005!!shows how good oakey was in the good old days....... |

Whoa.... I only uncovered this gem of a mix recently, and realised that there are so many tracks and samples used in there which are reused to this very day.
Highlights include Jadee's - Plastic Dreams from 1993, which just got a re-release not too long ago...
Terry Farley and Pete Heller were way ahead of their time with this mix, its awesome how timeless house music is...
and yes i know, my comments are probably totally the opposite from others above, but hey, its what i like.. =) |

A fair effort,as someone else mentioned though there was'nt alot of risk involved with this set.

A great mix. I slightly prefer the Portishead one a few months later because this one has a few too many hip hop tracks that don't really grab me. But still a great mix. |

Superb spread of music. Even the hip hop bit in the middle of the sandwich is great, with some excellent crate-digging around it. |

This mix was bangin from start to finish, just a shame no SCOT PROJECT though. To those PPl that comment negatively about anything - heres a thought just turn it off if you dont like it, simple. |

Brilliant! I love every minute of this mix! EVERYONE should hear this - I wouldn't just recommend this to anyone who likes dance, I would recommend this to anyone who likes MUSIC! God bless the internet for keeping this mix alive and bringing it to a new generation of dance fans. This is such a groundbreaking mix and will always remain one of the most celebrated (and best) dance mixes of all time. |
