damn fine mix here...deep, funky, and progressive...props to G and D for being able to mix in popular tracks with grace and efficiency

I don't like when people is voting "1" just because they don't like a dj or just to "bash" him.
Before to vote it is preferable to listen to the set...
This set is really good and must be listening.

I agree with the above comment. Very very tired of Jan Johnston in his mixes. Second half sounds much less like just putting the same old tunes in sequence.

farnesbarnes writes: KU KU KU [ 1995-09-17 - Paul Oakenfold ]
This was the Perfecto party at Ku. However, this was not the full track listing that Oakey played on the night.

The atmosphere whilst he was on was subdued to say the least. So, he dropped Itty Bitty Boozy Woozy (a bit cheesy, but it got the party going).

However, it was included on this mix. Plus his mixing was suspect in club, yet on the Emix it was OK.

Shame BBC didn't record the Sasha mix. The breakdown halfway thru B-Tribe's Nanita had half the dancefloor in tears as they'd opened up the roof of the club to reveal the most star filled sky you could imagine.

Beautiful.

Thank you Mr Coe.

 farnesbarnes writes: Last 5 tracks - Sasha [ 1995-09-24 - BT (Brian Transeau) ]
The hype surrounding this Emix at the time was pretty big, but cos of BT's lack of mixing skill, it was a bit of a let down. The choice of tunes made up for it a little.

Last 5 tunes were mixed by Sasha (as far as I know). They were big buddies back then.

Highlight of the mix - Casa de X. Sublime.

Well cool. Not really a DJ mix as such... more like a mental production but so sweet in so many places.

MrDub writes: Ahh! [ 1995-02-19 - Evil Eddie Richards ]
This mix is excellent. I saw Evil Eddy play a dingy club in Liverpool in 95. This set for his EM is pretty close to what he played that night. Takes me back... This is how they used to mix techno.

Proper!!!

Cheese central. If you like that kind of stuff fine but I don't and I thought this was awful!

Sorry a very poor 4 for this one

 MrDub writes: Nice! [ 2000-04-16 - Leftfield ]
One of the best EM's I have heard... not too much into the hip hop bit that happens about 80 mins in but it doesn't last too long and the rest of the mix is blinding.

Superb!

MrDub writes: Hmmm [ 2002-03-24 - Donald Glaude (American Underground Special) ]
Started well... the bit in the middle went a bit off really. He mixed some really annoying repetive cheesy stuff and towards the end of the mix he regained his credentials and mixed some very nice tunes. Not bad but shame about the 4o mins of bilge in the middle!

 MrDub writes: Smart [ 1996-05-26 - Norman Cook ]
Classic FatBoy stuff. if you like your beats big and your acid noises a plenty this is right up your street.

Kind of a bit like his mix album from the boutique but loads of great moments in there.

Only criticism is it is a bit cheese in places... but they are few and far between. Phew

 matrix writes: Not a 10 in my book. [ 1994-12-18 - Paul Oakenfold ]
The second half of this mix is very good indeed, but I feel that the first half doesn't match it. Hence not a 10.
