 Information
Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.

The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date.

 teneighty writes: SplitPoints [ 2004-10-10 - Marco V ]
Some good tracks, I'm particular to the remix of 'My Own Worst Enemy', very deep and powerful with gorgeous vocals. Apart from that, a lot tracks just didn't do it for me. I prefer Marco's MixMag CD from Jan 2003, "Electrotrance" which is awesome.

If anyone is seeking splitpoints, I gave it a listen and came up with the following:
00.00(intro) 01.20 06.50 13.20 19.47 26.43 33.03 38.10 43.29 47.50 52.55 58.12 1.02.11(commentary) 1.02.31 1.07.40 1.13.23 1.18.34 1.24.32 1.30.22 1.36.07 1.39.55 1.47.33 1.51.38 1.57.40(goodnight)

Very fresh house... a little bit monotonous in some part... but yeah.. sounds good!
Enjoy the sound!

spot on, but his essential mix from 2003 is unbeatable...

some nice tunes, just a bit one-paced.

 farnesbarnes writes: Fillers n anthems [ 1995-05-21 - Sasha ]
Every set has it fillers n anthems. Lost in love and luvin u more are the anthems.

Dum dum n spicelab, the fillers.

However, a Sasha filler has got to be a bit special, to have the ability to carry a mix from one anthem to the next without losing it. Der dit raum on the global underground mix (San Fran?) being my all time fave filler.

Since my copy of this was nicked ages ago, i cant really remember spicelab - dum dum was quality tho.

Does anyone have a copy? P2P? CD for cash?

An awersome mix. It reminds me of a club in a dirty ghetto. Unlike the never ending slew of UK trance-Not boring at all.

 whalefish writes: [ 1996-02-04 - Darren Emerson & Underworld ]
I have a two hour version of this mix and the hour and a half one. The sad thing (for all of you TRUE audiophiles) is that on the two hour mix the pitch sounds a littel off, like it has been just barely sped up. It's a great mix though. Darren emerson and Underworld could not and have not done better....

Excellent, just loses its way for about 20 minutes in the middle.

Good overall set, but it wasn't something that would really stand out in a crowd. It was worth listening to, but I'll probably move this mp3 over to the trash can on the next purge of my music library.

 matrix writes: I like this one. [ 2000-01-02 - Mr C ]
I like this one. Starts off quite funky, then moves into more regular techno territory, but there's a nice deep feel to it.

matrix writes: Um......no. [ 2004-12-26 - Above and Beyond, Mix Of The Year ]
I gave this another listen since it won mix of the year, and I thought exactly the same as the first time round. Some nice tracks but too monotonous for me.

I think it all boils down to whether you like trance or not. Generally speaking I don't.

matrix writes: Very good, after some effort. [ 2004-02-22 - James Zabiela ]
I didn't quite like this first time round, but held off rating it until I heard it some more (because everyone is so positive about it). It's worth the perseverance, but I suspect it's one of those that depends on your mood.

matrix writes: Tech house [ 2004-08-01 - Paolo Mojo ]
I enjoyed the majority of this, and it is definitely different from a lot of 2004 offerings. Nice tech house/house/electro whatever. Hard to categorise.
