I'v had a tape of this mix for years and have always rated it highly. Did any of the white labels ever get general release? can't find them any where.

Pretty good, although it is just another standard prog mix I have heard.

First hour dissapointing, no rythm, not a good choice of songs either, it's not her style. However, second hour is pure banging hard house with a great selection of songs. Mixing is ok, nothing spectacular.

Blackstobe are cutting edge and far stand out from any live decks and effects performance I have seen. Dirty, electro, acid house is the way forward. alot of progressive house, especially in the UK has got boring, funky house is really boring, hard house is not even worth mentioning!!

I heard this at the end of a set Sasha played in The Arches and it totally blew me away. I can't believe I've got a hold of it again. Nice one!

this is my first post about an essential mix, but i said to myself this one deserves it... the unique on their name they put it in thei musique ... this is one of those rare mixes that makes you want to stand up and start djing yourself...

i agree 808 lazerbeam, couldnt find a better song to go with the rest of the tracks...

 farnesbarnes writes: Not bad [ 1995-04-23 - Portishead ]
At a time when house/progressive ruled, this was a welcome change from the norm. Dummy was flying high and the headz had pre-hyped it so much that it didn't quite deliver. It was a very good mix, up there with Massive Attack, but not as good as the Psychonauts.

I had to register for this site specifically to respond to the post above this one, and the comment:

"the last track goes on for a bit".

Lovin' u more happened to be the seminal tune of 1995, and just about summed up the whole Sasha/Digweed/Perfecto sound. Even Oakey said (pre-release) in a mixmag interview that Lovin' u more was going to be an underground classic up there with the likes of Unfinished Sympathy. It was a critically acclaimed tune, and clubland adored it. The main room at Cream went ballistic a whole 12 months later in 96 when Vincent Covellodid a suprise live PA.

To say it goes on a bit is to not have been there, and to never fully understand...

(nothing personal, but it is very personal to thousands...)

mixed feelings about this essential mix. some good track selection but not the best in my opinion. still, it was the first ever and it deserves a 10 for it.

nellyphant writes: trak listing times [ 1994-07-23 - Moby ]
Just downloaded this mix for a mate of mine who's been waiting a LONG time for it!

Has anyone actually worked out the track listing times when they've split it up?

I'd be VERY grateful if anyone has!
