Best emix of 2003 I thought. I still listen to this emix today. Still doesn't beat his 1997 mix for get out of your seat and shake your ass material.
I remember hearing this mix when it came out and seeing Adam Freeland that weekend in Melbourne and he pretty much played this whole set identically! I was a bit pissed off about that as you shouldn't just make one great mix then play it at every live show you do (I read in other forums that he did pretty much the same set everywhere on that australian tour). |

Brillant techno mix. The first 30 minutes was dynamite relentless stuff that was mixed well. The last 40 minutes or so blew my mind, that dark downtempo stuff had me, now if he hadn't filled the middle of the mix with some shockers this would probably be my favorite techno e-mix ever! (big call). Best tek mix of 2003 easily. |

This was an excellent set, really brings D'n'B to the masses. A lot of D'n'B die hards don't like this guy, but its what that scene needs I tell ya :P
Its a shame that the recording I have is a bit muffed :/ |

Excellent studio mix, not sure if this was really done on the fly or if he re-edited in the studio. Excellent tracks and really flows quite well. Prog favourite of 2003. |

Great mix, first hour is a bit dead. The second hour is dynamite, gets better the more you listen to it.
He is in Melbourne this saturday, might go check him out.
Hope to hear him on the essential mix again soon. Every other mix I have of his (prev e-mix and kiss100s, other etc) are a bit crap really! Not nearly as good as this. |

Amazing, one of the best Paul van Dyk's sets that i have heard. Not too much hard, with feeling and powerful pads, great! |

I wasn't really expecting all that much, not having greatly enjoyed other Rampling experiences. But this mix is cracking.
Apart from a couple of tracks that had my attention wandering, it was top notch stuff. |

Excellent mix from Armin.
That Solid Globe remix of Ying is quality. Shame he didn't get a full two hours. |

Since the sun is shining outside, and since this mix is very very 'summer' .. nice
I've seen the cuban brothers in a movie acctualy.. it was called 'Gumball 3000', where they race something like from New York to LA in 5 days time, supposed to be inspired by a legendary Gumball Rally. Get the movie if you can, lots of fun stuff in there, with awesome cars.
The cuban brothers seemed very fun in the video, even if I didnt quite know what they did, but i knew it was somekind of music buisness, but I never expected them in a million years to be visiting the Essential Mix..
This year the gumball rally was beeing held in europe on May 5th, so they might have done the rally this year also, i guess i can only wait and see

Nice mix from Armin like the way he varied the rhythm Above & Beyond & Nickelson inspired track selection reminiscent of Oakenfold at his best . |

This just so happens to be the greatest ever mix of music in the whole history of music ever, in the whole world, and that is officially official, voted by the the world essential mix congress in early 2004.
I know 'cos I dreamt it.... but it's still true, and don't let anyone try and tell you differnet cos their fucking wrong. |
