this is the only essential mix from this year i've given heavy rotation.
Jaydee - 'Plastic Dreams' (R&S)
Free*land - 'We Want Your Soul' (Marine Soul)
is apparently a mashup of a breaks bootleg of plastic dreams and the acapella of we want your soul.
this really pisses me off, because i like this version FAR more than the original. |

I have this habit where i start the mix at that track, and move through both mixes of chilling moments and stop.
Loved this mix when I first heard it, but after some time, and listening to some other S & D sets (Specifically their four disc fall tour 2001 set which is floating around various file sharing networks), I understand why a lot of people were talking smack about this set. They use a lot of big tunes, but that's to be expected - they were in a damn arena! |

fucking amazing mix by mr. padilla. his emphasis is more on excellent tuneage than smooth mixing, and he definitely delivers. the first half of the mix is nice, smooth downtempo, and starting from the 60 minute mark he starts moving into some deeper breaks and edgier stuff, ending with some nicer, laid back trance.

Wow, can you believe this guy is only 23. This man by far is one of my favorite dj's at the moment. So technical, and so young! I highly suggest everyone listens to his blue room mix if you lookin for the same guy, but waaay more chilled out. Probably the best 30 minutes of music i've heard in a while. Man, this guy does everything. Oh yea, and the emix was good too.  |

Seriously, this is such a great change from all the other prog mixes out there. Most of the tracks are mixed so well together too. Blandford Superfly into One For You? Digital Reason to Solstice with the @Night in between? Personally i thought those transistions were soo good. And when transitions shook you up a bit, i thought it generally led to a good change. I also have to disagree on the midnight in europe track, mostly 'cause it leads up to that BoC track tho, which takes off wonderfully. This sooo is not one of those mixes where every track is 4/4 into another 4/4 and they all sound so dull after a while. =) |
