i would never have expected these two to play nicely together. somehow, though, it works.
josh plays it fairly dark, with some nice acid bits as you would expect. he builds quite well for an hour, and then...
dave clarke kicks it up a notch. the crowd reaction as he drops that first tune says it all: get ready for some hard shit. he nails the trademark first mix, and keeps the energy going throughout. love the remixes of midfield general and depeche mode.
probably the best techno essential mix of 2001. |

i expected so much more from this mix. perhaps it's partly the sound quality that causes me to frown on this one. it's good, but not clear enough to distinquish the subleties that make richie's techno great. |

and that's a good thing!
i completely ignored this when it was first broadcast, expecting just more 'progressive' house. afterwards i heard many people complaining that it wasn't that at all. i became more interested...
i found it to be quite nice. a good chilled mxi with some breakbeats in the first hour, and house in the second. it's progressive, but in a truer sense of the word: it pushes boundaries and challenges expectations.
nice one. |

when i first heard about this mix, i expected UK Garage, and didn't think i'd like it. but after a few serious listens, i've fallen in love.
seriously deep and phat basslines with wicked breaks mixed quite well. well balanced between all-out funk and tripped-out weirdness. |

i'm not usually too impressed with straight 'progressive' house, but these guys deserve the respect they get.
this mix captures the feel of their 'delta heavy' show pretty well. pumping tribal tunes that can trip you out and lift you up.
i'll be listening to this mix for quite some time. |

i didn't really like this mix the first couple of times that i heard it. i thought it had some great parts in it, but that overall it was nothing special.
after about 2 months, i gave it another listen. i was wrong. the first hour or so is just wicked. those remixes of DMX/Tears for Fears and Kraftwerk/Whitney Houston are excellent. too bad it regresses back into the same 'progressive' house kife later on.
i too would like to hear the full 4 hours. |

this is what the misstress is all about: bangin it hard! the mix doesn't let up until the very end, and that's just because she was feeling kind. hahahaha
wicked tunes well mixed. what more do you need? see her live for the real mccoy -- she tears the roof off every time she plays. |

still playing this one regularly 3 months on. as mentioned above, very deep and chilled at the start, moving to some electro stormers and finishing back at the house tip.
this mix is really uplifting in parts ("it's time to put some funkiness back in your body!"). can't believe it came from frozen finland. j/k |

this mix is fantastic. love the progression through electro/techno/acid. well mixed, too. this sound is really starting to blow up over here in canada, even though it's been lurking around underground for quite some time.
anyone know where i can print a tape cover? that *other* track list site seems to have gone kaput again... |

I rated this one 7, but Ive had a couple more listens now and its definately a grower. House groover with long trancey bass loops, combined with mixing straight out of the top drawer. Well done Aberdeens Chris Cowie. It always surprises me when I hear someone Ive not heard of before.
With Pete Tongs introduction at the start, this guy has obviously been around for a while and has bought some really good tracks out himself. Responsible for the production over 200 tracks. Xcabs, Vegas Soul and De Nero to name but a few. |

Matt Hardwicks mix was an underated mix. Tiesto might be good at DJing, Ive no doubt about his talents. He's definately one of my favourites. His Gatecrasher NEC mix was spot on, hard with melody.
Matt has a really good DJ style and can mix with the best of them. The Coast to Coast track 'Be With Me' is awesome, so are Ortz and Aquanauts 'Deep Sea. Recommend this one. CHEERS MATT. |

I enjoyed this mix. Good to see someone trying an accapella of sorts on the Cosmos track 'Take Me Away'. If someone could only find the perfect accapella for this track.
Nice to hear BT on the decks, havent heard him for a while. He still has a habit of making my hairs stand up.
I dont know what the fuss about Timo Maas is at the moment though. All and sundry seem to be playing his tunes at the mo.
All in all good mix and Pete Tong is still a top DJ. |

Good mix, but Im not used to this type of music anymore. Nice to hear old acid riffs, but i wanted a little more from this mix.
Like to hear some stuff from the Kahunas. |

i agree ... first 45 mins is good if a little predictable, over all a bit disappointing set from one of the supposed more enlightening djs around. |

why is it that the tune which makes the most impression is always the artist unknown track unknown white label, it has to be said that guy has put out some pretty good tunes over the years - anybody any idea what it is? |
