Still love this mix, good tempo throughout with some proper cutting edge trance at the time they did this mix. Could have used the original mix for Li Kwan, I personally think the Leama and Moor Mix is shit.

 sansiro2 writes: Mixed bag [ 2000-07-30 - Luke Neville ]
Downloaded this again because had some good memories to this back in the day. I thought it was a mixed bag back then and this is still true.

The 1st 20 mins is absolutely storming, maintaining a fast tempo but then it tails off between a mish mash of different styles which never quite works. The tempo shifts are very jarring and ruin the flow.

Tune selection is ok but the order doesnt work for me, seems very random, not well programmed at all, sorry Luke. But great first 20 - brilliant.

 sansiro2 writes: Still fresh [ 2000-04-09 - Parks & Wilson ]
Its Oct 2010 and I'm still droppin this mix. Tight as ever, this is one of my all time fave mixes. Pure quality, I gave it a rare 10. Better than the 2002 mix which was pretty good in its own right.

Amazing build up, takes you to another place.

sansiro2 writes: What an Intro! [ 2004-12-26 - Above and Beyond, Mix Of The Year ]
Everytime I listen to this mix, the intro just blows me away - I look wistfully into the distance as the Leama and Moor remix of Brian Eno is pounding away - with the amazing voiceover, almost makes me want to cry - the reason this won the mix of the year......Emotion!

definitely up there as one of the best mixes of the year (there are many to choose from lol). The samples are used to good effect as well.

CheefRoberts writes: Track list ammendent [ 1997-10-19 - Paul Oakenfold ]
There is an error in the track listing. Led Zeppelin is not followed by "Rachel's Song". It is "Love Theme" from the same CD (Blade Runner OST by Vangelis) and that is followed by "Inner City Life" by Goldie. Dimitri From Paris - "Souvenir De Paris" follows Goldie. Also the mix of Led Zeppelin used is the PQM (Price Quick Mix) mix

 SYSTEM-J writes: [ 2001-11-11 - John '00' Flemming ]
Decent mix, but you can see why J00F never really ascended to the top rank of DJs, even when trance was massively popular. He has good taste in trance but there's never one of those moments where the next track feels absolutely perfect, and the mixing is fairly average. Flaming June should not be in this mix - after 2 hours of spacey, menacing trance you have this summery uplifting punctuation mark. And as was mentioned... that Belfast Trance track is a fucking joke.

 SYSTEM-J writes: [ 2000-02-27 - Sasha ]
This is probably the era for which most remember Sasha: Xpander, Twilo, #1 in DJ Mag... and stunning mixes like this. Similar style of deep progressive house and trance as his GU:013 compilation, but I reckon this mix is much better. Draws you in during the hypnotic and funky first half and then the energy really ramps up after the hour mark. Not (quite) my favourite Sasha E-mix, but a definitive statement of what he does as a DJ.

 SYSTEM-J writes: [ 2000-04-16 - Leftfield ]
Meh, I think this mix is pretty boring. Doesn't remotely compare to their E-mix from '94 and it doesn't have any Leftfield feel about it at all. It just trudges along for two hours with no real direction, no builds, no teases, no ups and no downs.

 SYSTEM-J writes: [ 1995-11-04 - Sasha ]
Favourite ever Sasha mix, possibly my favourite ever dancefloor mix of all time. Perfectly constructed from start to finish. The tension in the first half hour is immense and the Fluke track changes gear perfectly. Never heard Sasha play it so hard with so much energy as the second half of this.

If God were a robot, this is what his insanity would sound like.

 SYSTEM-J writes: [ 1993-12-04 - Future Sound Of London ]
This is a total mindfuck of a mix. Unbelievably good, melds so much ambient and psychedelic music together into one seamless mutant mass.

 SYSTEM-J writes: [ 1995-05-21 - Sasha ]
This is the mix that made me into a Sasha fan and I still play it regularly. So many brilliant tracks and mixes in this one it's hard to choose a highlight. Star Of David is such a monster and the transition into Mozaic's Sing It is beautiful. The way he cuts back and forth between two versions of One Earth Beat is also exceptional mixing even by Sasha's standards.

And yet... I can't give this mix a 10/10 because I have to echo other people's complaints that Loving You More is a bad track to close on. The last 30 minutes of this set descend into a string of massive vocal anthems with no momentum or structure, and while Loving You More is great when played in the right place it doesn't half drag on here.

 SYSTEM-J writes: [ 1996-06-23 - Dave Seaman & Steve Anderson (Brothers In Rhythm) ]
A much better mix from Dave Seaman than his solo effort earlier in the year, possibly thanks to the influence of Steve Anderson. This is a well constructed set that blends chunky deep house sounds with an epic progressive sweep, and builds up really nicely. For the record, they play both mixes of Big C's Daylight - the Infallible Clank mix is the breakbeat section and then they slide in the 4/4 beats of the Northern Lights mix. Great stuff.
