Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.

The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date.

 zangief writes: [ 2002-11-10 - Sven Vath - At The Club ]
I felt like I needed to give Sven some justice... Pretty banging mix, and unlike a lot of his stuff I heard from the early 2K mixes it's pretty smooth.

But then I am a Sven Vath fan, so I am probably a bit biased .

tgross79 writes: em is still on the air? [ 2007-10-20 - Seb Fontaine ]
wow, i missed this mix, but then again i didn't know the EM was sitll on the air, since the last few years has been utter crap for the most part.....ever since trentmoller got em of the year, i really haven't listened that much, the scene has gone downhill, i with the DJ's would stick to the music instead of their egos, and where have all the live EM's gone? just studio mixes, which for the most part bring down the entire idea of the EM.

MPW writes: Bleasdale hits the spot [ 1994-01-08 - Andy Carrol & Paul Bleasdale ]
It starts off like Frank Bruno's mixing with his gloves on. However, Bleasdale comes through with a cracking segment - 30mins-1.10mins As a whole it's not a perfect mix but at least it sounds like it's live from vinyl - mistakes and all. Well worth a listen.

to be precise, the 2nd to last tune is secret life, she holds the key, but its not the HALF I'm a believer mix as widely reported, it's actually the play boys club mix. i suspect they played this on two different turntables as well at the same time

This is one of the reasons I fell in love with trance. Do yourself a favor and go to mixriot.com to download it. You will fall in love with trance if you do. Trance will never be this good again.

My highlights:

Little Green Men - "Time Changes" (Forensic)

Misture - "Think Positiva" (Zedd)

Funky Green Dogs - "Body [Ashley Beedle Mix]" (Twisted)

Funk Phorce - "M.U.S.I.C." (white label)

I think this is the Masters at Work innit?

That's what Pete Tong keeps saying over the top anyhow.

Excellent mix - Masters at Work are my fave producers of all time and they really take you on a journey with this mix (well after the first 30 mins when they've done the bongos to death lol)

Well worth a listen - one of my faves.

robder writes: [ 1993-11-27 - Terry Farley & Pete Heller (Junior Boys Own) ]
I love Farley & Heller - they define house music for me.

I wish everything sounded like this. :-/

Faves:

9. Colourblind - Nothing Better :-0

11. ??? "take me higher, take me higher" male (is this the one with the nice bassline?)

Anyway - excellent effort, had me smiling from start to finish.

Niiiice:

Groove Armada - "My Friend (Dorfmeister Con Madrid De Las Austrias Dub)" (Jive/ Zomba Records)

I also think it's better than the K&D Sessions but I guess it's a matter of opinion.
