Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.
The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date. | | |

This mix is the tits mainly because i was there. Everytime i listen to this mix it gives me goosebumps all over... its definately one of his best sets ever.
Shame, after sasha the chemical brothers came on and were shit. Took the mood right down again. Meh.
Oh well bit gutted it wasn't longer than an hour...
Good mix! |
|
I must agree as i was there too, Sasha was the highlight of the night for me with this superb selection of fantastic tunes, i too was dissapointed with the chem bros but not as dissapointed as i was with judge jules blowing the bloody amp, dozy lil twat that he is |

Again Jules never blew anything, get yer facts right. |

I dance so hard to this, it made physically sick! Saw green tunnels everwhere during dark and long and my jaw wobbled uncontrolably probably til about 4 o clock.
Anyone do that chopper that climbed up and killed the atomosphere? |

I walked in to the arena just as this was starting; the sirens in the first track are chilling and lead perfectly into "dark & long".
I like this mix more and more with every listen partly because i was there but mainly because of how much more I come to realise the DJ is one-of-a-kind.
Sasha's is a DJ with a seemingly god-like ability to select just the right track to follow from the last track and at just the right moment.
Heaven Scent is the real "moment" in this mix and it was obviously intentional; Sasha remixed the track especially for this set and did it in such a way that you don't realise what it is until the main melody comes in........I WAS JUMPING ABOUT LIKE A LOON IN THE STADIUM...being careful not to spill my 4 quid can of stella (one of 2 downsides to this night, the secind of which was the 107 quid entry fee) |

This hasn't been mentioned yet actually:

Quite frankly the dog's danglies. Not a misstep in terms of sequencing and tracks, he was playing many of them almost a year later. |
