I'm not really a big fan of Pete Tong but I was at this night, it was held at the Arches in Glasgow and I have never known a DJ whip up a crowd into such a frenzy as he did just before it went live on Radio 1.The mixing isn't perticularly good but very effective and dropping 'Nagasaki' when the room was at its peak was a masterstroke. For this alone and for the memories it gets a rating of 9! |

...depressing because we didn't go out that night. I was sat in with a crowd of mates, we'd decided we were broke, so a few Js and the TV it was. someone put Radio 1 on and this was literally just starting. As somsone else says, he's not the world's greatest technical DJ but I remember hearing the crowd absolutely kick off. By the time that blinding Simply Red remix came on, everyone was looking at each oher.
"Should have gone out, man. We should have gone out." |
