 Burkey writes: Wonder boy Zabiela
Wow! Zabiela really is in a league of his own, skill-wise. This mix is perfectly put together with plenty of effects and scratching to boost. Loved it, a classic essential mix as always from JayZee.

 djiceman writes: Awesome !
Zabiela puts out a set here that will possibly be the best Essential Mix of the Year. How much longer do we have to wait till Zabiela is at the top of the dj list ??? Nice Work James !

 Gyiik writes:
James was here in Hungary a few weeks ago in Home club...
if the set he played there was half so good, i'm already distressed that i didn't go...
perfect tracks, perfect mixing, perfect effects.
Nothing else to say

 djiceman writes: Zabiela is #1
In my eyes Zabiela is at the top of the dj list. No question about it, Zabiela's livesets are awesome !!! Just aw him 2 nights ago here in Charlotte, North Carolina where he has said was his favorite US gig so far. It was unbelievable. The set was flawless and full of amazement. I cant wait to see him jump on tha decks again

 djpeanut writes:
Zabiela is an awesome DJ to see live. A shame that his Essential Mix isn't such a blast on the home stereo. I have no doubt that a set like this would work wonders on the dancefloor, but as a listening set it falls down due to lengthy and uninteresting tracks (especially in the first half) that start to grate on the ears. Technically almost unfaultable but his sound has not had time to mature.

 electronX writes: Downturn - upturn
grr... once again. So...
The start is beautiful, with a hungarian track.. But later it comes to a downturn. Too dark. I don't like that.
The second part is fascinating..!

 LateNite writes: The Real J-Z
OMG, WTF. NO ATB?!

lol, sooo good.

 djiceman writes: wow
very hard to believe some people rated this mix lower than a 9 or 10 .. Zabielas sound and flawlessness in this mix is UNBELIEVABLE.

 serp writes:
Great mix, first hour is a bit dead. The second hour is dynamite, gets better the more you listen to it.

He is in Melbourne this saturday, might go check him out.

Hope to hear him on the essential mix again soon. Every other mix I have of his (prev e-mix and kiss100s, other etc) are a bit crap really! Not nearly as good as this.

 Slisje writes:
when you listen to other mixes by Zabiela
they all sound very good!
but this one is the best

 farstrider writes: almost
Only 29 tracks in 2 hours? Come on. Plus for scratching though.

 trebass writes: Too serious?
[ Posted on 2004-09-06 23:42:23 ]

 trebass writes:
Requires patients at first, then once into it be rewarded by this wonderfully created set.. Alot more serious than other Essential Mixes in regards to choice of tracks rolled out and mixed. That track Eli (lizard mix) AMAZING..

rockinj writes: mix of two halves
first hour may be technically good, but really, its a bit dull. Second half is great.

 jakeellis01 writes: wow
one of those stunning mixes

any cue file for it?

matrix writes: Very good, after some effort.
I didn't quite like this first time round, but held off rating it until I heard it some more (because everyone is so positive about it). It's worth the perseverance, but I suspect it's one of those that depends on your mood.
[ Posted on 2005-01-20 14:26:17 ] [email]

 Mux writes: Top class
For me, one of the best sets I've heard. I loved it. Banging, thumping, exterminate!!!!

 zangief writes: Essential
This is art. Blows most other essential mixes completely out of the water. It has the freshness and the beauty of the mixed in with James' technical experimentation which produces a heavenly effect. Why does Sasha keep getting EMix of the year?
And where does James keep finding all these tracks? I love how the same music sounds so different and individual under his touch.

 CerealKiller writes:
How this didn't get E-Mix of the year I will never know... This mix showed extreme talent (Both for track selection/production and mixing/blending skills).

Don't get me wrong the Above & Beyond mix was enjoyable, but it doesn't compare to this in the slightest.

This mix is probably in my top 5 e-mix's of all time.
