 serp writes:
Not the best Sasha or Digweed emix of late, the first hour was by their standards bad, the second hour was jumping with the breaks tracks being a great mixup. I bet diggers did most of the second hour

7 out of 10

 shoayb_makda writes: unknown tune
i believe that the tune everyone is asking about played before way out west - apollo is by rowan blades called funky summer.this is mix is by far off sasha and digweeds standards.too much acid house from the old era.yes it was good then but is not too crowd pleasing now.however im sure people who saw them live at the club would disagree as im sure it would sound much better at a club as i found out when i went to see john digweed on his university tour in leicester.awesome diggers!puts poor old oakey to shame!!

 stevefox writes: this mix
quality mix but this wasnt the best part of the night. the last hour was superb ending with was that all it was(an ode to one night stands) a bit of a dig at geoff oakes!

 serp writes:
shoayb_makda, I think the reason for the use of older tracks in the beginning cause it was a 10 year annervisary of sorts for Sasha & Digweed, and the Renaissance crew would have been looking for that.

The more I listen to this mix the better it gets, particularly the last 50 minutes from that Rown Blades track.

 shoayb_makda writes: re:serp
yeah i agree thats what they were looking for.im sure after and before the radio broadcast finished they played some other awesome tunes.as i say they proabably sound better in the club than on your hi fi or computer at home!

 audiopimp writes: YAWN!
I remember back when Sasha used to move dance floors and create and emotional experience from his sets. Keyword being REMEMBER! What a let down. (I have never been one for Digweed) Of course the phrasing and beat matching is going to be next to perfect, but when your playing 20 min simple records theres not a whole lot to match. With the money these guys charge to book, I would have expected more.

 djmarkkimse writes: yup yup yup
The same ol Sasha & Digweed fare... Very solid, although not their best

 celticscott writes:
You can always expect a solid performance from these 2 quality Djs! The first time i heared it only a few tunes really stood out for me but after listening to it again and again, i must say it started to grow on me and keeps you rocking all the way! Love the way out west track 3/4 of the way through! Simply brilliant! I remember the 2nd time i listened to this set i went to bed with the earphones on after a few lonely beers in the house! It was a Saturday Night and i was so chuffed the next morning that i stayed in an listened to this rather than going out an listening to the fucking usual headbanging pish that this society loves and adores! Fucking Stoners! Keep fighting the good fight folks!!!

mufc70 writes: These guys are out there alone!!
This was my first listen to an essential mix for a number of years, but boy it didnt disappoint me. These two dj's are definately up there with the best in the world. The way they played the old classics from a decade ago along with some current tunes almost made me wet myself!!! Big up to "the man like" alexander coe and diggers, keep dropping the tunes and keep a whole nation with a huge smile on their faces!!!

mufc70 writes: SLAM? Yes you're totally right!!!
A couple of pioneers, try saying that after a few beers! Yes Tongy hit the nail right on the head, these two are a couple of pioneers!! Its great to hear some scottish dj's getting the recognition that they rightly deserve. Having featured on the essential mix a number of times, its certainly no accident these boys are at the top of their game. The set was a lovely flowing techno set that had me nodding my head and tapping my foot for the whole 120 minutes and the only downside was that it had to finish!! Seriously though, the mixing perhaps wasn't up to their usual standards but hey we're all human. Guys can't wait to hear another wicked set. See you on the dance floor!!!

 funkdakarma writes: Halfway through....
but this is sounding like a wicked set....seen the tl and I can't wait till it hits 'Funky Summa'....first heard a prog remix of it on the Cattaneo Masters 2 and then the breaks version on Desyn's OS....what a tune, totally encapsulates last summer for me.....Johnny Graham is the man, fantastic live as well.....
