CheefRoberts writes: TRACK 7 by FADE
Does anybody know if this track has ever been released of titled? Fade release tracks on Fade Records (Chris Fortier is one half of Fade) in the USA so maybe it was released on that label. Fade Used to release tracks on Limbo Records here in the UK so maybe its on this label but I have most if not all of the Fade Limbo releases so maybe it was a test press of some kind. Please let me know as I want this in my 12" collection and will do anything to get it!

Track 3 is HEAVEN KNOWS - DEEP DEEP DOWN by Angel Moraes and it is the "GALVATRON DUB - THE VTH (5th) COLUMN" mix that is played and was licensed to Tong's FFrr London label. The people behind the mix are Phil Faversham and Stuart Douglas.

Track 4 is the Quivver Mix to Dreamtime and is available on Perfecto Records. There are two mixes (a vocal and a dub that Sasha and Digweed used to mix together to give the impression of 1 long track. Digweed did it on his 03/09/95 studio Essential Mix for the first track of Part 2 of his mix after the news.

Track 5 is the Quivver Dub of Evolution’s LOOK UP TO THE LIGHT. It is on Deconstruction records.

Track 6 is the correct track listing. However, it is very rare to get hold of this track in the form Sasha plays it. It is a dub with fewer vocals than the more readily available 12”. TOSH was released on Circa Records as a promo in the form of 4 variants under different names: MOSH and POSH on side A, and COSH and GOSH on side B of the vinyl. COSH is the version Sasha plays. The Cat No is YRTDJ 122 for anybody looking for it (my copy is not for sale along with all my other Sasha tracks). COSH is only available on the promo copy but one or two of the other Tosh variants were released. Annoying when the best version isn’t released isn’t it.

Track 7 is by Fade and as soon as I heard it I knew it was by them before seeing any track listings. Sorry but I have no idea if it was released and/or titled (read my comments above)

Track 8 is RAYS OF THE RISNG SUN by Mozaic. It is the Dekkard and Danes Mach Dub that is played and it’s on Perfecto Records.

Track 9 is also a Dekkard and Danes mix, titled DANE & DEKKARD’S MELTDOWN DUB (nice title). It was not featured on the official CD release but thankfully it is on the vinyl with other nice mixes by Quivver and the Space Kittens.

Hope this all helps if you are hunting down the tracks. Check out www.htfr.com as they stock many rare and OOP titles as well as current gems. For all you prog house people the best shop for this type of music is Global Beat Records in Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK. No web site though

 DJA50 writes: The Fade Track
Not sure if the Fade track ever got a full release. I have a 2 sided test pressing/white label. Bought in 1995 I think, amazing tune. Seems to be very rare, no way I would ever part with my copy.

The problem back then was that at least half of Sasha's records in any one set were acetates and most of the rest were white labels, many only he and Digweed seemed to have. So it was a nightmare trying to find out what tunes were.

I went to this night at the Que Club. A classic Sasha set. He and Digweed were just on fire in 1995 and 1996 as well. Was my first year at university and I am remember travelling around all the clubs in northern England to hear them play - Cream, Basics, Up Yer Ronson. Then there were the Tribal Gathering and Northern Exposure in 1996.

Fantastic times!

 SYSTEM-J writes:
Favourite ever Sasha mix, possibly my favourite ever dancefloor mix of all time. Perfectly constructed from start to finish. The tension in the first half hour is immense and the Fluke track changes gear perfectly. Never heard Sasha play it so hard with so much energy as the second half of this.

If God were a robot, this is what his insanity would sound like.
