this mix is great! from the "tom's diner" acapella over evil nine's "crooked" to the breaks remix of "sure shot" by the beastie boys, there's something in this mix for everyone. 80s electro, edits (miami sound machine??!!!??), breaks and everything in-between, it makes me shake my head that the EM doesn't spotlight more breaks djs.

 Turn_Off writes:

While there was a variety of music, it doesn't mean that all of it was good.

I could have lived without a few of the tracks but I did end up listening to the entire set.

I've heard sets like these by the dozen and this one doesn't attempt to do too much to stand out from the rest of the eleclectic dance style DJs.

And techically this set was inconsistent at the begining, some of the tracks broke in abruptly without and progression or fade in at all.

 djmarkkimse writes:
This is a pretty good mix, although I think he tried to get a little too creative with the selection, and he ended up dropping in a couple of extremely annoying tracks.

2 Live Crew - 'Me So Horny' (Luke Skywalker)

Miami Sound Machine - 'Dr. Beat' [Krafty Kuts Edit] (Epic)
Junior Jack - 'E-Samba' [Accapella] (Deffected)

Warp 9 - 'Light Years Away' (Island)
Boricua All Stars - 'Boricua House Party' (Howlin Records)
Michael Jackson - 'Billie Jean' [Instrumental] (Epic)

So many cool re-works of 'drop the pressure'...

Great mix. Good, funky, party beats. Krafty Kuts is always very eclectic in his track selection, combining the new with the old, including seminal tracks that influenced todays sound, or just having a little fun.

Turn_Off commented:

Actually, technically, this set was great. You don't have to mix for 32 counts+ on every mix between every track. That doesn't make you a good dj, it just makes you predictable. This isn't the type of set where every song has to slowly segue to the next track. It's energetic and dynamic, and sometimes you do want to 'slam' your mixes. All the mixes are right on, they're in key where it matters, and there's a lot of great mash-up work going on.

The only reason I didn't give this mix a 10 is I got a little bored with some of the selection 2/3rds of the way through or so, but then it came right back again.

From about Mylo onwards, great. Before that, not so hot.

 irv writes: Sunny days mix
Really good mix, starts off dirty, then goes organic through the middle, then back to dirty at the end again. The only problem I have with Krafty is that once he likes a tune he uses it in his mixes all the time ie. SCAM - good tune, and from what I can remember he had something to do with the production but it's just a tiny bit overused now. But I'm nitpicking, that aside top quality stuff! Nice one Krafty!
