I think silicone soul cant mix so great, but track sellection is good and generally mix is nice

djmarkkimse writes: really very good =)
This is deep, soulful house music at just about it's best. Great track selection.

 CerealKiller writes:
This is one seriously tasty mix by Silicone Soul. Its got a deep dark edge to it that I'm loving. Solid 9 from me. Just relax and let the groove take over.

 djmarkkimse writes: um, not really...
i dont know what cereal killer was talking about, but there's nothing dark about this mix. It's actually extremely light with super-warm basslines and a deep groove, kinda reminescent of something Deep Dish would lay down.

djRaz writes: So far so good....!
Just listened to the first hour of the mix and so far it's really good... nice track selection!

Tunes to watch out for...

Silicone Soul - 'Les Nocturnes'/Devil drives (Soma) - got this on 12" after listening 2 it on Digweeds show and love it!

Kano, Santiago & Neville - 'It's A War!' (White) - wish they release this!

Martinez - 'Chord Ripper' (Out Of Orbit) - what a tune!!!! but can't find this anywhere

Can't wait to listen to the second hour...

Serge Santiago & Neville versus Kano - 'It's A War!' (Instrumental Re-Edit) - [Green EP on Santiago Records]

That's been released as part of Serge Santiago's Expanded EP for many months.

I've got this on vinyl, and I believe the flipside of this track is the Dub of 'Adventures in Failure.'

 matrix writes: Nice.
I like this mix a lot. Nice 'sunny' house.

Great to see these guys back in action. Was a bit hesistent since good producers need not be good dj's but was pleasantly suprised. Smooth deep house with a hint of electro and I'm loving it. As mentioned previously, those silicone soul tracks dropped were delicious so keep an eye out for those in months to come.

 Marcin_G writes:
If it wasn't for Silicone Soul then I don't know how'd I begin listening to house music. This is such a lovely, deep, sexy, vocal-soulful house music set. This mix definitely sounds fresh and feel's fresh. Too many EM's atm focused at experimental electro-house and this EM by far stands out, this year. Good to see those old Scottish bastards still haven't a lovely touch. Solid 10 from me.

 drdank writes:
definitely the first serious contender for essential mix of the year. Good mix with a good vibe, had its nice evil bits to it. Great funky grooves on this track, solid 9

 Turn_Off writes: T/L correction
I actually just relistented to this mix, and I believe the Kano - It's A War track is not the Serge Santiago Colours EP remix, but the Serge Santiago UK Dub Re-edit for Full Time Records:

 Sly Guy writes:
Overall good track selection, enjoyable mix. But their mixing style is a bit lacking, and the track selection is geared more towards what I'd like to hear on my computer at work instead of a night out on the town. Loving the last track tho....

 Green writes:
Man, this mix is awesome.... First quality house... I'm @ minute 54 and till now the tracklisting is kickin'!!!
Some small problems with mixing though...

How this didn't win Mix of the Year over Sasha is a mystery to me. This is one of the best Essential Mixes of all time!

 MrArias writes: Silicone soul...

 solask writes: Legendary....
As a Ph.D.D.M.A. in music, with concentrations in musicology, theory and composition I would like to ad my comment. This is music at the very edge of perfection. I dont think people even realize the quality of this piece of mastery. There has never been or will ever be a essentilal mix like this....
