Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.

The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date.

if you listen to this mix with an open mind its still dull, sasha is an idol now, of past pleasures, give it up to the new generation, just shows how behind the scene radio 1 really is, may 95 was his last best em

 Bongoloid writes: Sasha YAAAWN
This guy is so out of date. Prog stuff always sent me to sleep anyhow. I remember going to Northern exposure at the Misery of Sound and walking out after 1 hour. The guy takes like, 5 mins to mix in a tune. I'm all for seamless mixing and eq'ing, but fucking hell! Like the other reviewer said, his time was over 10 years ago... boooooo!

 synkboy writes:
What happened to the Sasha of old?

Euphoric breakdowns that had the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end.

His music used to be so evocotive and his sets pre 2000 were absolutely rocking.

This programmed nonsense is not Sasha, and he will not be Sasha again until he replaces Ableton with good old vinyl and CD's again.

 DJ AMAC writes: Punks
Good for Sasha! These pathetic wanna be DJ's who claim that you can't be a REAL DJ unless you're only using Vinyl are as full of shit as the bands who say that DJ's aren't musicians. The truth of the matter is that it's the music that matters, not what it's made on!

Anyways, this a decent mix, and definitley one of the best of 2005, BUT, there is no way it should have topped Silicone Soul's EM from 03-06.

 dash writes:
Sasha tryed too hard to create sth outstanding, he droped too much variation in this set which made it too colorfoul. Tiring mix, good for a one listen and then - delete.
