Welcome to this site, here you can find the Radio One Essential Mix archives, ever since 1993 when it first broadcasted, up until today, and for the future. In time there will be features added for "artist in residence" which will be a profile of a DJ/Producer we will pick each month, and give you information about them and what they are doing now.

The page is updated by atleast a few people, so it is always up to date.

Maybe I'm over fussy,
or maybe todays dance music doesn't quite agree with me as much as say,7-10 years ago.

But again this was another run of the mill house mix,bit of acid here and there but nothing to write home about.

Probably given the chance to compile this mix on the back of his big tune "The 7am drop",can't think why as it was complete bollocks.

Radio1 tend to be fickle like that these days, have 1 decent club track and suddenly you are put on the Essential Mix.

I'm sure people will argue with me that he was put onto the Essential Mix in response to being in Groove Armada as well.........well then, why wait until he releases a solo track before doing so.

But will probably never meet anyone as cynical as I am ;-p

 matrix writes:
I liked this one - a nicely understated mix that's got very little to do with Groove Armada's sound. It's hard to define exactly, to quote another review (thanks Pixel) that says it rather nicely, it's got melodic techno, funky percussion, thumping basslines, minimal bits, housey bits, proggy bits, squelchy acid bits and seems to be a strange mix of mainstream and underground.

I'll be coming back to this one, definitely worth a listen for those that haven't.

Grove aramdard as s duo djing I found boring, Cato by himself I find more exciting.

Solid 2 hours very nice.
